The Bump Team
We are a family-run start-up company of engineers, scientists and creators. We have over 150 years of combined experience in building complex tech for aircraft, rockets, ships and cars. Collectively we decided to focus our skills on more practical, every-day technology – stuff that helps people in their daily lives. We want to use our skills and knowledge, and the tools and technology we used on technology mega-projects to make a positive difference to people.
In short – we decided to work on the practical tech that we would use ourselves! We focus on plumbing, water movement and pumping – because plumbing is needed by people all over the world and from all backgrounds. “Without plumbing you don’t have civilisation” as the Roman’s used to say*
We have a series of brilliant, innovative products in the pipe-line**. The first of these is a novel, no-electrics, bath-water drain pump that is completely silent and never breaks down. The idea came from Bob - our ‘Ideas-in-Chief’ inventions guru, who just happens to be an expert in Computational Fluid Dynamics. And no … I don’t know what that means either!
Bump was designed using the most sophisticated computer modelling tools and then prototyped using advanced manufacturing equipment. The theory that drives it is used on the most advanced, fast-jet aircraft. But the result is a surprisingly elegant and practical device that any plumber can fit – it’s easier to fit than an electric pump!

Our goal is simple: to make practical, useful and reliable plumbing fixtures, water movers and tools that make customer’s lives better: Quieter, more reliable and easier-to-fit.
* They didn’t really – I just made that up. But I bet if you have asked them they would have said it!
